DePaul Belonging Collective
In Spring 2025, as part of our Catholic and Vincentian mission to compassionately uphold the dignity of all members of our diverse, multi-faith, and inclusive community, we launched the DePaul Belonging Collective (DBC)—a new initiative coordinated by the Office of Institutional Diversity & Equity (OIDE). DBC brings together leaders from Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and respective Staff and Faculty Council committees.
The DePaul Belonging Collective fosters:
- Connection with leaders from across campus who are advancing thriving and belonging
- Sharing ideas, updates, and priorities from your group or unit
- Exploring opportunities for deeper collaboration
- Helping shape the future of the DePaul Belonging Collective

Language Access Committee
As part of our commitment to cultivating environments where everyone can thrive, the Language Access Committee was created in Spring 2025.
The mission of the Language Accessibility Committee is to:
- Meet with university stakeholders to determine the immediate language needs and develop a sustainability scale for language access for our student population.
- Create a sense of belonging where faculty and staff members can develop cultural and linguistic competencies when engaging with parents, students, and community members. LAC will use a Language Justice framework to value and respect all languages and communities.
- Identify experts each year such as faculty, staff, and community members that will review, and assess (terminology) oral fluency suitable for university programs.
- Advise campus leaders and the campus community when developing initiatives to engage non-English speaking parents and community members.
- The commitment is to attend a monthly meeting, make recommendations about cultural and linguistic communication, and be available (when possible) for university events to engage with parents, students, and community members.
