About the Office of Institutional Equity and Thriving (OIET)

The Office of Institutional Equity and Thriving (OIET) actualizes DePaul's Catholic, Vincentian, and urban character by ensuring representation, inclusion, equity, and justice for all members of our community.

Vision

Our vision is to achieve a diverse and engaging campus environment that is a model of inclusive excellence in higher education. DEI at DePaul will reflect our collective values of respecting human dignity and living social and racial justice to achieve transformational change.

Scope

OIET is responsible for implementing diversity goals and objectives outlined in Designing DePaul. OIET works with university stakeholders to provide resources and organizational integration to coordinate and develop a range of DEI services, initiatives, and policies that comprises a comprehensive plan for advancing equity and access for all members of our community.

Services

  • Provide Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) training and education
  • Implement JEDI programming
  • Coordinate and complete DePaul's Affirmative Action Plan
  • Facilitate JEDI dialogues
  • Review and create university policies with an equity-minded lens
  • Champion DePaul's Employee Resource Groups
  • Collect and disseminate DEI data and analytics
  • Advise university DEI strategy and planning
  • Coordinate the Faculty Recruitment Incentive Program    
  • Manage the Human Dignity and​ Bias Response Team
