Assessment

​​​​Overview of Assessment at DePaul

Assessment supports DePaul’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation, starting with understanding and enhancing the student experience.
Assessment processes at DePaul are designed to:

  1. Clarify and communicate student learning outcomes;
  2. Gather and analyze evidence of student learning;
  3. Encourage thoughtful revisions to curriculum and pedagogy;
  4. Facilitate the sharing of data about student learning and successful practices among colleges, departments, and programs; and,
  5. Meet the Higher Learning Commission and other accrediting agencies’ requirements.
Assessment is designed and carried out by faculty and staff in curricular and co-curricular units, advised and supported by an assessment leadership team and the Assessment Advisory Board. This site provides resources and guidance for university faculty, staff, and administrators in planning and conducting annual assessments of student learning.
