DePaul University Research Services > Internal Grants > DePaul Innovation Day
DePaul's third annual Innovation Day, Collaborating through Convergent Research, was held on Friday, January 28, 2022. The focus of this year's event was on collaborative, interdisciplinary, and convergent research. The President and the Provost opened the day with remarks, and the day featured faculty presentations and panels that highlighted research and innovation projects focusing on equity and inclusion, social impact, and industry partnerships.
Through a variety of initiatives—from research partnerships with local organizations and city agencies to programs and events that integrate service and learning—the featured projects provided a glimpse of our dedication to the city that we call home and led the way to the event’s culminating keynote presentation “Forget Silicon Valley, Welcome to Chicago.” Keynote speaker and alumnus, Abin Kuriakose, who currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Innovation and Venture Strategy for World Business Chicago, the City of Chicago’s economic development organization, discussed how Chicago has the ingredients to become a global tech and innovation hub.
This event was sponsored and organized by the Office of the Provost, the Office of Research Services, and the Office of Academic Events.
