Darryl Arrington joined OIDE in July of 2023. In his appointed role as associate vice president, Darryl stewards the development and implementation of a strategic approach to improve student engagement, retention, persistence, graduation, and overall success. His initial focus is on enhancing outcomes for students within underrepresented groups at DePaul in pursuit of the institutional goal to eradicate the achievement gap in retention and graduation. Darryl will work with faculty, staff, students, and administrators to craft a comprehensive student success program that aligns with institutional goals.
Darryl has over 30 years of higher education experience serving in Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, and Institutional Diversity Equity at DePaul in various management roles. He is currently an Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) Commissioner and chairperson of the ISAC Audit Committee. Darryl represented ISAC Commissioners on the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) Strategic Plan Advisory Committee.
Darryl is a Double Demon with a bachelor’s degree in social science and a master’s degree in public service management. He is a strong advocate of the mission of DePaul serving as a DePaul Mission Ambassador and a member of the Vincentian Mission and Management steering committee.
