Rick is DePaul’s first in-house real estate
attorney. He has brought a significant
amount of real estate work in-house that had previously been done by outside
firms, including leasing work and property acquisitions and dispositions. He was instrumental in closing the sale of
the Barat Campus and development of the Events Center. In addition to
supporting DePaul’s advancement and facilities operations areas, Rick functions
as Deputy General Counsel, focusing on reduction of legal fees and workload
management for the office. Prior to joining DePaul,
Rick worked at the law firm of Sidley Austin, LLP. Rick received his J.D., magna cum laude from the Northwestern University
Law School in 1998, where he was first
in his class, and a member of both Order of the Coif and the Law Review. He
received a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of
Illinois-Champaign and an M.S. in Radiological Sciences from the University of
Massachusetts at Lowell.
