Fall 2015 Enrollment Generates Record Tuition Revenue

Download the2015 Enrollment Summary, a comprehensive guide to DePaul's fall enrollment.
Fall enrollment sets the stage for DePaul’s annual fiscal performance. By surpassing enrollment targets and generating a university record in tuition revenue this fall, DePaul is in a strong position for the 2015-16 academic year.

The 23,539 students enrolling this fall exceed the budgeted target by 1 percent.  This marks the fifth consecutive quarter DePaul has met its overall enrollment target.  The $222.4 million in tuition revenue is $4.3 million above goal and $7.1 million more than last year.

“As an institution so heavily reliant on tuition revenue, the outcomes each fall are critical,” explains David Kalsbeek, senior vice president of Enrollment Management and Marketing.  “Even with a slightly lower enrollment than last year, we’ve been able to generate a record amount of tuition revenue by carefully balancing our enrollment portfolio and executing an effective pricing and aid strategy.”

A key component of DePaul’s fall performance is the number of new students.  New student enrollment is strong across the board, with undergraduate, graduate and law all exceeding budgeted targets.  Overall, new student enrollment is 4 percent over budget and nearly 1 percent greater than last year.

“Our performance with new students is a testament to the impact of our integrated marketing and recruitment efforts,” Kalsbeek adds.  “It is a clear reflection of our success in a hyper-competitive market.”

Offered below are additional highlights from the final enrollment data for fall quarter based on the Sept. 26, 2015, census.
