DePaul Tops Budgeted Enrollment and Revenue Goals for Spring Quarter

DePaul’s spring enrollment of 21,076 students exceeded the budgeted target by 2 percent while generating $190.5 million in gross tuition revenue, a university record for a spring quarter.

New student enrollment of 779 students is 18 percent (117 students) over the budgeted goal and 2 percent higher than last spring.  The performance in new student enrollment is primarily attributed to strong outcomes in new master’s students.  This spring, 403 new master’s students enrolled, 30 percent more than the budgeted target and 10 percent higher than last fall.  Transfer enrollment exceeded the budgeted target by 3 percent as well.

Below are some other highlights based on the April 16, 2016, census:
  • Undergraduate enrollment is 14,495 students, slightly above the budgeted target of 14,459 and down about 2 percent (267 students) from last year.  Credit hours taken by undergraduate students are down 2 percent from last year, but produced $5 million more than spring 2015.  Tuition revenue is $1.3 million more than the budgeted target.
  • Graduate enrollment is 6,581 students, 6 percent above the budgeted target and up 119 students (2 percent) from last spring.  Credit hours taken by graduate students increased by 4 percent, generating $1.9 million more than last spring and $4.8 million over this year’s budgeted goal.  (NOTE: Law enrollment is not included in spring quarter since the law curriculum is on a semester calendar.)
  • Online credit hours are the highest in history for spring term. The 32,148 online hours are a 4 percent increase over last year and account for 12 percent of all enrolled credits.
