Nicholas DeFalco

Nicholas DeFalco joined DePaul in October 2022 as Executive Director of Transfer Recruitment and Admission in Enrollment Management. He will have extensive oversight of many aspects of transfer student recruitment, including supervising the transfer recruitment team, transfer engagement team, and the transfer articulation center colleagues.

DeFalco brings to the position solving systemic challenges to uphold transfer student success pathways; the depth and quality of his thinking to build solutions; his deep knowledge of systems, processes, and functions in transfer enrollment; and most critically—his genuine, down-to-earth care for the growth and well-being of his colleagues.

Nick received his B.A. Social Science/History and Secondary Education and M.A. Higher Education Leadership from North Central College.

Prior to joining DePaul, Nick served as Director of Transfer Admission at North Central College, Illinois, where he worked successfully in the transfer admission field for over 10 years.  In addition to his excellent work at North Central, Nick has also held leadership positions within the Private Illinois Colleges and Universities (PICU) organization since 2014, spending 3 years as Marketing Chair, 2 years as President, and is currently serving in the Past-President advisory role.

Additionally, he serves as a co-chair for the IACAC Transfer Advisory Committee, responsible for hosting professional development opportunities such as the Illinois Transfer Summit. He was recently awarded the Bonita C. Jacobs Transfer Champion Award, which recognizes professionals in the transfer field that have exhibited leadership, appropriate risk-taking, and disrupting the status quo.

In his spare time, he likes playing and coaching tennis, jogging, reading historical fiction novels, traveling, and watching Chicago sports.
