Erin Updegraff joined the division in July 2011 and currently serves as associate director in Freshman Admission. In her role, Erin leads a team responsible for administering scholarships to new students, vetting applicants for DePaul’s honors programs, developing nationwide recruitment strategies and managing the application review process.
Erin came to DePaul in 2006 to obtain her master’s degree and immediately felt welcomed by the many wonderful and caring people at DePaul. The student’s dedication and involvement both on campus and throughout the city of Chicago prompted Erin to stay involved. She previously held roles in DePaul’s School of Music and earned both her MM in viola performance and MBA in leadership and change management. Before attending DePaul, Erin obtained a BS in business administration from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently a member of the National Association of College Admission Counseling and Illinois Association of College Admission Counseling where she serves as co-chair on the National College Fair Committee.
Erin grew up in Atlanta, Ga., St. Louis, Mo., and Chicago, Ill., where she currently resides. In the months between March and October, Erin enjoys her work as a professional freelance violist. You can find her playing at weddings and corporate events with her quartet, Dolce Strings, on most Saturdays.
