DePaul Management Foundations Training

Organizational Development and Workplace Learning offers managers a series of mandatory foundational courses aimed to strengthen skills and practices in hiring, employee engagement, communication, supervision and performance. Staff learn about DePaul’s policies and procedures and examine and explore the legal, procedural and behavioral practices of human resource management.

All employees may attend training.  Management training requirements are mandatory for all managers.

Management Training Requirements

  • Complete six eLearnings (first 6 months)
    • ​eLearning must be completed before in-class skill lab
  • Complete four in-class skill labs (first 9 months)
    • Complete all five in-class skill labs for Management Certificate
  • Complete one rotating elective each year (Ongoing)

Goal Setting and Maintenance

This skill lab will equip participants with the tools necessary to translate organizational goals, department goals, and job responsibilities into personal S.M.A.R.T goals. Participants will practice writing goals and explore way to monitor and document progress.
