DePaul faculty members are known for their real-world experience and pragmatic approach to teaching.

• DePaul employed 925 full-time and 1900 part time faculty members for the 2014-2015 academic year
• Among full-time faculty, 20.6 percent were full professors; 38.7 percent were associate professors; 19.9 percent were assistant professors, and 20.8 percent were instructors.
• More than 95 percent of the full-time faculty members have doctoral, terminal or equivalent degrees.
• Among the 919 full-time faculty members for the 2014-2015 academic year, 67 were African-Americans, 50 were Hispanic/Latino, 51 were Asian-Americans, 8 were multi-racial and 3 were Native Americans – together representing 19.4 percent.  There are 493 male and 426 female full time faculty members.
• The average student-to-faculty ratio is 17 to 1.
• To provide freshmen greater opportunities to learn from the most accomplished faculty at DePaul, the university launched the Vincent de Paul Professorships program in 2004.  Chosen members teach seminal first-year courses, mentor junior faculty members and become members of the DePaul Society, made up exclusively of Vincent de Paul Professors.  Professorships are presented to up to 10 percent of the university’s tenured faculty based on a competitive application process.
