Compliance & Risk Management > Risk Management
The Office of Compliance and Risk Management has a primary responsibility to negotiate and verify
the suitability of DePaul University’s insurance portfolio, manage insurance
claims and consult with university departments to implement appropriate third
party insurance requirements. Risk
Management also works with the office of Environmental
Health and Safety to promote a safe learning and working environment.
A COI is a document used to verify the
university’s insurance coverage to outside parties. Risk Management provides the certificate as
proof of insurance. For more information regarding the COI process go to Certificate of Insurance.
Management partners with the Office of General Counsel (OGC) to review a
contract with specific insurance language such as ‘Additional Insured’, ‘Loss
Payee’ and/or ‘Mortgagee’.
To confirm insurance coverage, please send new contract documents to firstname.lastname@example.org for Risk Management review. Information
on the Contract Review process can be found on the Office
of the General Counsel website.
