John Kerr is an innovator, engineer, musician and executive coach. He currently works for Apple and holds one patent.

A native of Livonia, Michigan, he graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.  During his 10 years at Motorola he developed several generations of mobile phones including models of the StarTac and RAZR.  Kerr founded the Chicago hardware office for Research in Motion (BlackBerry). 

Kerr is a classically trained bass-baritone and multi-instrumentalist who has performed with L'Opera Piccola, Bowen Park Opera, Da Corneto Opera and Northeastern Illinois University. He served as ensemble music director at Holy Family, St. Alphonsus and St. Vincent DePaul parishes in Chicago. His five years at St. Vincent DePaul were his introduction to DePaul University and the Vincentian community.
