Mr. Timothy Crane
Tim Crane is President and Chief Executive Officer of Chicago-based Wintrust Financial Corporation, a $52 billion bank holding company focused on Community Banking in Illinois and Wisconsin, as well as Wealth Management and Commercial Banking nationally. Wintrust is a recognized leader in the Insurance Finance, Franchise Finance, Mortgage Lending and Leasing businesses. Tim joined Wintrust in 2008 and, among other responsibilities, oversees all of Wintrust?s 15 banks with over 180 locations. During his nearly 15-year career at Wintrust, he has been responsible for a banking business that has grown by $44 billion. Wintrust?s distinct community bank structure has led to customer satisfaction scores among the highest in the industry and recognition that includes several JD Power (Consumer) and Greenwich (Commercial) awards.He has his MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (finance/pre-med). Additionally, he has completed executive leadership programs at the Ivy School in Toronto, Canada and Northwestern?s Kellogg School of Business.Before joining Wintrust, Tim had 24-year career at Bank of Montreal/Harris Bancorp where he was President of Harris Bancorp?s network of 21 banks and nearly 200 locations.He has been a speaker at numerous financial conferences and served as a faculty member for several banking schools. Tim is active in the Chicago area recently serving on the board of the Metropolitan Planning Council and currently serving on the board of Metropolitan Family Services, one of Chicago?s oldest and largest social service agencies, the Bank Administration Institute, Chicago United and the DePaul University boards. Locally, he is active with The Bankers Club of Chicago and other organizations.Tim and his wife, Marley, have two adult children and reside in the Chicagoland area with their rescue dog, Lucy. In his spare time, Tim enjoys spending time outdoors in Wisconsin (fishing and golf) and is a proud fan of both the Chicago and Milwaukee baseball teams.
