With the 2026 midterm elections coming up in November, we want to remind the DePaul community that early voting begins in Chicago on Thursday, Oct. 1. Since we're still at the beginning of the new academic year, this is a good time to highlight the importance of voter registration and DePaul's policies on political activity on campus.
If you are one of the many people who will participate in this year's election, then it's important to register to vote. Resources are available to help you register or update your registration, if needed.
The Illinois State Board of Elections offers Illinois residents the option to register or check their voter status. Remember, voter registration deadlines vary. Please review more information about voter registration and voting in this state:

As we approach Nov. 3, political campaigns and activity will ramp up on or around our campuses. Please review DePaul's policies on political campaign activities through the University Policies & Procedures page (use your Blue Sky login to view).
Our policies on political campaign activities help to promote civic participation while also safeguarding DePaul's nonpartisan position.
It is important to remember that DePaul prohibits activities that could be viewed as endorsement of candidates, fundraising for candidates on behalf of the university, or other political activities associated with DePaul University.
We support your civic duty to engage in the upcoming election and the political issues that interest you. With that in mind, we also ask that you treat one another with respect, care, and compassion, as our Catholic and Vincentian mission guides us to do. Take a moment to read our community expectations as this year's election approaches.
