Thomas Berry
Thomas Berry received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri and has been teaching at DePaul University since 1981. He specializes in the area of corporate financial management and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in financial theory, corporate case analysis, managerial finance, and the psychology of decision making. Additionally he has taught in the Chartered Financial Analysts program and the Certified Public Accounting review program and has taught in the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, France, Austria, Lithuania, Bahrain, and Russia. His teaching has resulted in numerous awards including five times being awarded the University Excellence in Teaching Award, and winning the Lawrence Ryan Award for outstanding undergraduate teaching three times. He has been an active participant in numerous professional organizations and has served on the board of directors for the Academy of Finance, the Financial Management Association, the Midwest Finance Association, and the Academy of Financial Services. Dr. Berry’s research interests center on information flows in the capital markets, the behavioral aspects of financial decision making, and socially responsible investing. He has published numerous articles in professional journals including the prestigious Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Behavioral Finance, and the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking.
