Warmest wishes this holiday season

Last week, I had the pleasure of participating in my very first Christmas at DePaul performance. From the lighting to the orchestra to the chorus, it was a truly spectacular event and one that made me very proud to be part of the DePaul community.

For the very first time this year, our university will share Christmas at DePaul with the nation as it airs on PBS stations across the country. I think it's wonderful that viewers everywhere will have the opportunity to experience the musical and theatrical talents of DePaul's faculty, staff, students, and alumni. If you weren't able to attend one of the live performances or would like to catch it again, you can watch the full production by clicking on the link below.

As we get ready to close the university for the holiday break, I would like to reiterate how grateful I am for all you do for our university community. The care you demonstrate for one another coupled with your unwavering dedication to our Vincentian, Catholic mission continues to inspire me. When we return in January, our work together will truly begin as we design our future and transform DePaul into the national leader in higher education.

Please use the holiday break to rest, recharge, and renew. Share a meal with loved ones. Binge watch your favorite series. Explore a museum. Go see a play. Regardless of your traditions - whether you light a menorah or a kinara or decorate a Christmas tree, I very much hope you enjoy the time for yourself.

As you celebrate your own faith this holiday season, my family and I wish you comfort, happiness, love, and peace.
