Federal immigration authorities in Lincoln Park

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

DePaul has received confirmed reports of federal immigration authorities in Lincoln Park today. I know this development causes concern within our community. The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff are our highest priority.

The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights offers a Family Support Network and Hotline. The City of Chicago also has a list of resources

Please continue to follow the guidance for interacting with Immigration and Customs Enforcement on DePaul property from the Office of General Counsel. This page also links out to publicly available Know Your Rights resources.

DePaul Public Safety and the university leadership team continue to monitor the situation and stay in close contact with local and state authorities. We don’t anticipate any changes in university operations. Classes, research, and campus activities will proceed as scheduled.

We are a special community that is built on care, respect, and compassion. Now more than ever, we must look out for one another. A list of university resources is at the bottom of this email.

Take care of yourself. Take care of each other. Take care DePaul.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Manuel
President
