Draft Designing DePaul Strategic Plans

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

Last fall, we launched Designing DePaul, a framework to drive our university forward to become a national leader in quality higher education. Every college, school, and administrative area used that framework to design their own strategic plan. Today, I am pleased to share the complete draft of the Designing DePaul Strategic Plans for university community input.

Inside the document, you will find strategic plans for each college and school, as well as university-wide opportunities. The chapters include excerpts from each of the plans as defined by the colleges, schools, and administrative areas, with links for you to view the full details for each unit. We will use the strategic plans to chart our priorities, our connections, and our path forward. The plans are meant to be living documents that we will adapt as the needs of our university evolve.

The open comment period to collect your input on the draft begins now and will run through December 2024. We will incorporate community input in the winter quarter, and the final strategic plans will be published in the spring, along with a five-year financial plan for the entire university. The Board of Trustees is simultaneously reviewing the draft strategic plans. For a closer look at the strategic planning roadmap, please visit the Designing DePaul website.

Over the course of the last year, we made a tremendous amount of progress on many Designing DePaul milestones, which you can read more about here. Our next step, which requires the help of our entire university community, is to turn the vision of Designing DePaul into reality. The strategic plans contain all the elements to continue on our path forward as we transform into a national leader in quality higher education.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read the draft plans and for providing your thoughtful input.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Manuel
President
