U.S. Department of Education

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

Today, President Trump signed an executive order to begin dismantling the U.S. Department of Education. The White House says the department will not immediately close and will continue to oversee the management of federal student loans and Pell grants.

We will continue to monitor how the elimination of the Department of Education could affect our university and will keep you informed as we gain additional information.

As we have shared previously, DePaul remains committed to helping our students navigate the changes in the federal government in order to access grants and loans. We continue to actively engage with policymakers in Washington, D.C., and Illinois to advocate for policies that prioritize student needs.

For more than 125 years, DePaul has remained steadfast in our Catholic, Vincentian mission to deliver a high-quality education to a diverse group of learners. Our commitment to academic excellence and student success is unwavering.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Manuel
