DePaul will offer a proprietary certification called Dialogue in Action, which is housed in the College of Communication. This series of workshops will cover the principles and facilitation of dialogue. The workshops will equip DePaul community members with essential knowledge and hands-on experience in framing, designing, and leading dialogues across diverse perspectives.
How to apply
Full-time faculty and staff are eligible. Part-time faculty with a demonstrated involvement with dialogue in teaching or service roles will also be considered. Participants will be encouraged to seek funding through the Dialogue Collaborative: Event Sponsorship program for their own dialogue-related event, project or initiative.
Requirements include:
- Attending six in-person workshop sessions in Lincoln Park.
- Fall Quarter 2026: Tuesday afternoons, 2-5 p.m., Sept. 15 – Oct. 27 (with week of Oct. 6 off).
- Winter Quarter 2027: Wednesday afternoons, 2-5 p.m., Jan. 13 – Feb. 24 (with week of Feb. 3 off).
- Planning at least one initiative or event that integrates a dialogic approach.
To apply, candidates must submit the following via email to dia@depaul.edu:
- Name of applicant
- Which quarter you are applying for (may indicate multiple, if needed)
- Resume or CV
- A statement of interest including evidence of their scholarly or practical experience working in ideologically diverse spaces, and their current understanding of dialogue (max. 500 words)
- A letter of support from direct supervisor (this may be emailed in separately by supervisor)
