President Robert L. Manuel > Notes from Rob > 2024-25 > Taking care of each other

Taking care of each other

Dear Students,

From prepping for final exams to the 2024 election, we know the end of the fall quarter can be a busy and stressful time for many in our community. It’s important to take care of ourselves and support each other.

Here are resources and events to help you destress and connect with one another:

Preparing for the Election and beyond
  • Vote DePaul: Voting is an essential civic duty, and we encourage all U.S. citizens in our community to participate in the democratic process. Get help in-person or via Instagram to get to the polls or make a plan to vote with resources available through Vote DePaul.
  • Processing Politics: The Cultural and Resources Centers are hosting Processing Politics on Nov. 6. The event will include lunch, guided discussions, art workshops, and community education opportunities the day after the election. Check out more details here.
  • Supportive space: Staff from the Office of Mission and Ministry and University Counseling and Psychological Services will be available in the atrium of the Lincoln Park Student Center to unpack the election, listen, and chat on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Preparing for Finals
  • Brain Fuel Week: Make a Zen garden. Participate in restorative yoga. Enjoy a tea break. Engage in relaxing activities like these with friends to recharge during finals week. Learn more here.
  • Finals Breakfast: This free event on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 8:30 – 11:30 p.m. is open to all students, featuring a full breakfast served by DePaul staff, plus a pancake artist, roller rink, slot car racing, and a gaming lounge. Learn more here.
Please remember our shared expectations for our DePaul community and our policies on political campaign activities. We included more resources below.

Take care of yourself and each other during this busy time of year. Take care, DePaul.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Manuel
