James Even

​Jim Even has been with DePaul University since January 2018. In his current role he is a learning specialist for the Center for Students with Disabilities in the Loop. Jim evaluates documentation for current and incoming students to determine eligibility for CSD services and also provides clinician and advocacy services for current students.

Jim is a retired special education administrator having served as director of student services and special education for Naperville District 203 and Park Ridge District 64 school districts, as well as coordinating the Educational Surrogate Parent Training Program for the Illinois State Board of Education. Prior to that Jim was a house parent at Misericordia Home for children and adults with disabilities. He was also a public accountant with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell CPAs, now KPMG.

Jim received a master's degree in special education from the University of Illinois in 1990, and a bachelor's in accountancy from DePaul University in 1978.
