Dear Students,
Welcome to Winter Quarter! I hope you enjoyed the holiday break and are feeling rested and recharged.
As you dive into a fresh set of courses, I hope you also embrace opportunities to discover meaning, build community, and create moments of joy and fun along the way. DePaul offers many opportunities, including:
Start your career journey: This is your time to focus on what matters most—your growth, your learning, and your future. Set a resolution to connect with the
Career Center this quarter. Whether it’s one of three February career fairs, a session with a career coach, or just a visit to the Career Library website, take a few steps toward your dream job.
Attend the Winter Involvement Fairs: It’s not too late to join student groups on campus. Get to know DePaul student organizations during fairs on the
Loop and
Lincoln Park Campuses.
Find fun on campus and in the city: Hot chocolate, virtual reality and more: The Office of Student Involvement (OSI), DePaul Activities Board and others have a full slate of fun activities this Winter Quarter. See more on
DeHub.
Celebrate Foundation Day: Join Mission & Ministry and OSI on Jan. 23 to celebrate the anniversary of St. Vincent’s first sermon of the Congregation of the Mission, a turning point in our patron saint’s life and work. Stop by the
Loop or
LPC for a snack and activities to reflect on how you carry out the Vincentian legacy at DePaul. The new
2025 Shared Coin will be revealed at this event. In April, we will celebrate 400 years since the official formation of the institution.
As you move through this quarter, challenge yourself to shake up old routines and try something new. Growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones. I hope you will explore new opportunities, meet new people, and approach your studies with fresh energy. This is your time to redefine what’s possible—embrace it!
Sincerely,
Robert L. Manuel
