New dialogue series: The future of higher education

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As we step into this new year, I’m writing to share an initiative I believe will spark meaningful conversation and deepen our collective understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing higher education today. Starting this month, we will host a series of dialogues to explore the evolving landscape of higher education.

Together, we will talk through the potential impacts of initiatives we expect from the new U.S. presidential administration. These discussions are constructive opportunities to consider how we, as DePaul, can navigate this moment and continue to fulfill our mission in collaboration with our government, business community, and extended university network. Experts will join us to provide context and insights, and your perspectives as faculty and staff will be essential to shaping these conversations. Discussion topics will include the new financial realities for higher education, the future of DEI, and immigration.

We are aiming to hold monthly sessions, open to all faculty and staff, and registration will be required. I’m confident these sessions will provide a space for rich dialogue and ideas for how to collaborate, supporting our students and each other during changing times.

The first session will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 9:30–11 a.m. on the Lincoln Park Campus. Please register online to reserve your seat, and more details about this and future events will be shared soon.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our shared work. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you for these conversations and other events on campus as we move forward together.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Manuel
President
