Last week, our university community came together in celebration of who we are and all that we aspire to be. While the memories of inauguration week are still fresh in our minds, I would like to reiterate how grateful I am to everyone in the DePaul community. Being here, as part of this incredible university, is truly one of the greatest honors of my life.
In my inauguration speech, which you can
watch here, I challenged our university community to be bold. I challenged you to believe we can transform DePaul into THE national model for higher education. This aspiration stems directly from the more than 1,800 conversations I had with you over the last few months. Moving from concept to implementation will require every single member of our university community. I know we have the capacity and willingness to do so.
To get us started, I invite you to learn more about the design framework we will use to transform DePaul. The following links share the vision, focus areas, and the next steps we will take to develop a university-wide strategic plan by the end of this academic year:
Transforming DePaulDesign FrameworkBeginning in January, we will host working sessions to dive deeper into this framework and continue to improve this model. In the coming weeks, please look for invitations in Newsline to join these conversations.
Designing DePaul’s future will continue to be an organic process, and our work together is far from done. As I said in my inauguration speech, it’s a bold responsibility, in a bold moment, for bold people. Your extreme talent combined with your unwavering dedication to our Catholic, Vincentian mission will catapult us forward into a new era of academic excellence. Thank you for all that you do for our university. I’m grateful to you all and ready to go.
Now let’s get started.
