The Vincentian Service Scholars (VSS) Program invites you to be a Vincentian – to work for positive social change and solidarity in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul with a commitment to one's own faith and spiritual development. Vincentian Service Scholars engage in opportunities for spiritual growth, leadership development, community service, and interfaith reflection through intentional community
Scholarship Goals
- Scholars will engage in experiences which will enhance their understanding of leadership and their capacity for leadership.
- Scholars will develop their capacity for Socially Responsible Leadership.
- Scholars will engage in service to the DePaul and Chicago communities.
- Scholars will engage in experiences that will allow them to build relationships with other students, faculty and staff at DePaul.
- Through the Vincentians in Action (VIA) model, students will experience, and be conversant with, the foundational Vincentian values of community, spirituality and service.

Applications for the Vincentian Service Scholarship are now open. DePaul students who will have sophomore standing during the 2022-2023 academic year may apply here (search Vincentian Service). The application is due February 20, 2022, and there are several steps a student must complete in order to be considered for the scholarship.
Requirements:
WHO is eligible: current first year undergraduate students who will have sophomore standing at the start of the 2023-2024 school year (at least 44 but less than 88 quarter hours); applicants can be enrolled in any college or major and must have financial need
WHEN is the application due:
- Online application due February 20, 2023. Apply on Scholarship Connect (search Vincentian Service)
- Service engagement requirement complete by end of Winter Quarter 2023. All interested students must participate in service engagement experience with the Division of Mission and Ministry and are encouraged to begin this process as soon as possible.
