International Student – Arrival Orientation

​​The International Student Arrival Orientation is required for all new international students studying at DePaul on an F or J student visa.


We have designed this orientation to assist you in your first weeks in Chicago and to help you become a successful student at DePaul.  At the end of orientation, you will:

  • Know the resources and information you need to successfully navigate your first 2 weeks at DePaul University;
  • Know who you can contact for support when you need it;
  • Start to develop your peer support network at DePaul and in Chicago.

Your International Student Arrival Orientation will take place in person and will include many important sessions on topics you must understand and tasks you must do as you start out at DePaul.  Examples of sessions include: Immigration Basics, How to Access Your U.S. Health Insurance, How to Pay your DePaul Bills, Culture Shock, How to Find Academic Advising, and much more!
