My MicroFridge is DePaul Housing’s approved vendor for MicroFridge rentals! If you don’t know what a MicroFridge is, it’s a fridge, freezer, and microwave combo unit that is specially designed for residence hall rooms. A MicroFridge comes with features such as a built-in smoke detector to shut off the microwave in case food (especially popcorn) starts to burn, as well as additional built-in electrical and USB outlets.

My MicroFridge offers MicroFridge rentals for the academic year, and they deliver the day before your scheduled move-in appointment and pick up from your room at the end of Spring Quarter. Roommates can share the cost and avoid the expense and hassle of purchasing, transporting, and storing a separate microwave and separate mini fridge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Per the Prohibited Items webpage, residents may have one microwave and one refrigerator per residence hall room. Therefore, a residence hall room may only have one MicroFridge in the space.

Orders received by August 1st will be delivered to your room prior to your scheduled move-in appointment.

Orders received after August 1st will be subject to a $40 late fee. All late orders will be delivered after the start of the academic year.

Note for Corcoran Hall residents: You do NOT need to rent a MicroFridge as one will be provided in your room free of charge. 

Note for University Center (Loop) residents: A different vendor offers MicroFridge rentals for students living in suites. Therefore, you will NOT order from My MicroFridge. More information will be provided by University Center staff about MicroFridge rentals. 

Yes, My MicroFridge offers rentals for standalone appliances like a mini fridge or microwave.  

Order now and you will be guaranteed to have a unit reserved. If My MicroFridge receives an order from both you and your roommate, one of you can cancel your order with My MicroFridge and the company will issue you a full refund. 

Orders cancelled prior to delivery will receive a full refund. Delivered orders cancelled prior to September 1st are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Orders cancelled after September 1st are non-refundable. 

Yes. When you order your MicroFridge through My MicroFridge, you can add damage insurance upon check out.  

Before you permanently leave your residence hall room at the end of Spring Quarter, you must unplug, defrost, clean, and dry your MicroFridge.
