Food insecurity is a significant issue among college students across our country. Given the mission of St. Vincent de Paul and that of the university, the question
"What must be done?" always comes to mind. In February 2020, a group of DePaul staff members from the Department of Housing, Dining & Student Centers established The Rosalie Rendu Student Pantry to provide a food resource for students in need. Since then, its offerings have expanded, which includes professional clothing for students to impress during interviews or on the job.
The pantry depends on the generous contributions from our DePaul Community, valued alumni, Lincoln Park neighbors, and foodservice partner, Chartwells. For those interested in donating, these are the items needed:
We have a good supply of bathroom products, such as soap and toothbrushes, at this time.
Currently, the food pantry is well stocked. Please consider donating in the future. Thank you!
The the racks in our closet are full. We appreciate the generosity of our donors!
A special note to our donors: We thank you from the bottom of our hearts in helping provide these much-needed food resources for our students!
