Judith Legorreta-Hernandez, LCPC

Relevant Experience
Judith Legorreta-Hernandez (she/her) has had direct experience working with children, adolescents and adults in counseling centers, community mental health centers and private practice. Throughout her career, she has provided individual, group and family counseling addressing concerns including anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, life transitions and multicultural issues. 

Before joining DePaul University, Judith was a therapist and intern supervisor at a non-profit organization in the northwest suburbs of Illinois. She thoroughly found a love for teaching and training new counselors in the mental health field. She is bilingual and can provide counseling in Spanish and English.

Clinical Interests
Judith’s clinical focus includes third culture individuals, first-generation students, gender affirming care, and trauma-informed care. Judith has a particular clinical interest in generational trauma and LGBTQA+ and Latinx intersectionality of students.

Fun Fact
Judith grew up in Mexico and moved to Illinois when young. She enjoys hiking, stargazing and travelling to new locations. Currently she has gone to 23 states and plans to visit all 50 states,​ eventually.
