Steven Gomez

Steven has been with DePaul since 2011, where he worked as a mentor and intern for S.T.A.R.S. and Men of Color Initiative housed under the Office of Multicultural Student Success. Steven took three years away from DePaul to challenge himself professionally before returning in the summer of 2017 as the assistant residence director for Munroe and Belden-Racine where he supervises a staff of five resident advisors (RAs). A Chicagoan (disclaimer: with a few years in the suburbs), Steven enjoys exploring the diverse experiences unique to Chicago while also taking time to engage in social activism alongside marginalized communities.

Prior to his role as an assistant residence director, Steven served as a restorative justice facilitator at Erie Neighborhood House’s Little Village Site, a youth care worker at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, and a workshop facilitator at the Center for College Access and Success within Northeastern Illinois University.

Steven received his BA in communications from DePaul University and is one a path to become a Double Demon as he purse’s his MA in counseling with a specialty in college student development.
