Scott Tharp has been with DePaul University since 2009, and in his current role as assessment and effectiveness specialist is responsible for divisional assessment initiatives, the annual student affairs assessment symposium, leading the Co-Curricular Learning Assessment Committee and supporting the Assessment Certificate Program. He also serves as adjunct faculty in the master of social work program at DePaul.
Prior to his role as assessment and effectiveness specialist, he served as the assessment coordinator in Student Affairs, as associate director in the Center for Identity, Inclusion and Social Change, interim director for the Center for Intercultural Programs, and associate director for the Office of Diversity Education at DePaul. Prior to his work at DePaul, Scott served as the coordinator of Multicultural Student Success at Columbia College Chicago.
Scott earned his PhD in curriculum studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago, his MSW in community organizing from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and his BA in sociology and philosophy from Elmhurst College.
