James Stewart, PhD

Academic Continuity and Engagement (ACE) works to support undergraduate students in their academic goals, success, and retention. This is accomplished through peer support programs, strategic communication, data-informed interventions, programs, events, and services. The office collaborates with key university and external partners to provide services, resources and programs that address the specific needs. Specialized efforts involved in these pursuits are applied to support Student Veterans and provided specific, intensive advising in that transition and support.

James Stewart joined the DePaul community in 2013 and became the director of Adult, Veteran and Commuter Student Affairs in 2017 before transitioning the department to a retention and success mission for all students under Academic Continuity and Engagement (ACE).
