Ashley Knight, EdD

The Dean of Students Office primarily administers and adjudicates violations of the Code of Student Responsibility at DePaul University. Additionally, the office provides the administrative withdrawal and absence notification processes, and can help students identify community resources in times of personal and/or family crises and medical emergencies. 

Ashley B. Knight has served as the Dean of Students since January 2015. In this role, she is responsible for a range of programs that serve to advise, educate and advocate for students through formal and informal intervention processes on issues of academic progress and success, student conduct and student health and well-being. In addition to the Dean of Students Office, she provides comprehensive leadership and direction to three other departments responsible for supporting students as they pursue their academic goals: University Counseling Services, the Center for Students with Disabilities and the Office of Health Promotion and Wellness. She chairs the Student Care Team, and is the university’s Deputy Title IX Coordinator for students. Ashley also teaches in the counseling graduate program within the College of Education.

Prior to her role as Dean of Students, she served as the Dean of Student Affairs and the Dean of Wellness and Campus Activities at William Rainey Harper College, and she held several positions within student affairs at Columbia College Chicago.

She earned her EdD in community college leadership from National-Louis University, her MEd in human services and counseling with a concentration in higher education from DePaul University, and her BS in speech communication from Bradley University.​
