Father Holtschneider welcomed everyone to the 18th annual Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Jerusalem Lecture, hosted this year at DePaul in the Lincoln Park Student Center. The program is a partnership between the Archdiocese of Chicago's Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs office, the American Jewish Committee, the Chicago Board of Rabbis, the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago and the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies. The lectures, which highlight the Jewish-Catholic dialogue, alternate every year between a Jewish speaker at a Catholic site or a Catholic speaker at a Jewish location. This year, Rabbi Meir Y. Soloveichik presented a lecture titled, "Jews, Catholics and the American Idea."
