Award-winning author Jill Lepore joined the DePaul community by videoconference as it discussed the latest selection in the Book Club: The White of Their Eyes: The Tea Party Revolution and the Battle over American History. She illustrates how American history is used by the movement to justify its claims by telling stories of the American Revolution in a dramatic manner that makes clear they do not support the purposes to which this new political movement puts them. Lepore is a Pulitzer Prize finalist and winner of the Bancroft Prize who also serves as the David Woods Kemper Professor of American History at Harvard.
