Kristina Daloia
Kristina Daloia was appointed director of University Ministry in August
2014 after serving five years as campus minister. She is an alumna of
Saint Mary's College (Bachelor of Music, education) and the University
of Notre Dame (Master of Sacred Music) and studies at Christ the King
Seminary in East Aurora. Kristina joined the campus ministry team after
a year of service with the Vincentian Service Corps in St. Louis. She
has completed the Vincentian Mission Certificate Program at Niagara and
the Institute for Administrators in Catholic Higher Education at Boston
College. Kristina lives in Niagara Falls with her husband, Michael.
Why Niagara?
There
is no explanation besides Providence that fully captures my response to
the question, “Why Niagara?” After my post-graduate service year with
the Vincentian Service Corps, I was inspired to share the gospel, in the
spirit of St. Vincent, with young people in hopes that others would be
drawn closer to the Lord through this mission. Niagara happened to be
looking for a campus minister at the same time I was looking for an
avenue to fulfill my vocation. It is the best place for me to live out
my call and provide others, especially young adults, with opportunities
to encounter God through service and relationship, and ultimately
develop their own spiritual identities.
Why VMI?
I
am particularly drawn to the scholarship and collegiality of the VMI.
I look forward to learning more about our common Vincentian history and
mission, and growing through this experience with my colleagues. The
opportunities for study, discussion, and collaboration with
administrators from other Vincentian universities are invaluable to the
work of mission-integration at all three schools.
