Why St. John's?
I was attracted to St. John’s by its mission since its founding which is to educate the children of immigrants. Tying that mission to its Catholic and Vincentian heritage the university also continues to serve the underprivileged in our great City of New York. The ability to educate our young men and women on the importance of social justice and in preparing them to go out and to do good has kept me here at S. John’s.
The VMI program provides each and every one of us the opportunity to learn more about the Vincentian mission of the three institutions. It offers us an avenue to learn from the life and works of St. Vincentian De Paul and use it for the common good in our respective institutions as leaders in various units. The ability to bring staff from the three Vincentian institutions under the VMI umbrella is a perfect market place to share ideas and learn from one another.
