Mission-related Course Offerings
There are many courses, programs, minors, and majors in the Departments of Catholic Studies and Religious Studies that cover virtually every facet of DePaul’s Catholic, Vincentian mission in a diverse and pluralistic environment. Catholic Studies courses offer a rigorous, interdisciplinary, and critical understanding of the Catholic contribution to human civilization. Religious studies courses offer students the opportunity to engage in the academic study of religion, as a force that has become central to contemporary culture, politics, identity, and conflict in every part of the globe.
Mission-related Leadership Programs
The Vincentian Mission Fellows cohort provides an opportunity for ten students to discern a lifelong vocation of ministering and service by responding to a particular social challenge of great consequence. Graduates of the VMF program will enter the professional world formed in the spirit of the Vincentian Family, prepared to live and serve as civic-minded individuals with a preferential option for the poor.
Mission-related Immersion Trips
Alternative Break Service Immersions
provide DePaul students the unique opportunity to work, live, and build relationships with over 12 marginalized communities throughout the United States and the Americas. Students spend their breaks working with the homeless in LA, repairing and building homes in Appalachia, learning about immigration, and in various other endeavors.
Vincentian Heritage Tours provide opportunities for student leaders to deepen their understanding of the university's patron by participating in guided Vincentian Heritage study tours to locations in Paris and throughout France associated with the life and works of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac.
Mission-related Service Opportunities
University Ministry Community Service
