Microsoft Windows is a PC operating system produced by Microsoft Corporation.  Released in 1985, Windows 1.0 was one of the first operating systems to feature a graphical user interface.  It allowed users to move a mouse, instead of typing DOS commands, to navigate a visual display of “windows.”  Since its release, Microsoft has regularly updated versions of Windows in order to meet the needs of users.
