Condor Email System Shutdown

Overview

Information Services will be begin retiring the Condor Email Service (email accounts ending in @condor.depaul.edu and @math.depaul.edu) on July 1st, 2016.

Note: This will not affect individual or departmental websites or web content on the condor.depaul.edu server.

Shutdown Details and Timeline

On July 1st, 2016, email accounts ending in @condor.depaul.edu or @math.depaul.edu will become “aliases” of those individual users’ @depaul.edu account on Exchange.  Email messages sent to either of these two mail domains (@condor.depaul.edu or @math.depaul.edu) will be redirected to the user’s @depaul.edu Exchange mailbox.  By default, any emails that users send from the Exchange system will be sourced from their primary @depaul.edu mail identity.

After the retirement date of July 1st, 2016, the condor.depaul.edu email server will no longer receive email. Any historical emails residing on the server will be accessible until October 1st, 2016, after which the server will not be accessible to view mail. Those wishing to save existing mail from their condor email account will have the opportunity, before the final decommission date of October 1st, 2016, to access and download a copy of their mail. Information Services recommends this be done as early as possible to assure that those wishing to save historical mail can do so before the target decommission date of October 1st, 2016.
