How to Access Employee E-Mail

All University employees receive an employee e-mail address,, where “username” is the employee’s Campus Connect username. Staff and faculty are also eligible for a longer primary e-mail address; please see the Long E-Mails for Employees page for details.

Generally, DePaul employees use one of the several supported desktop Microsoft Outlook clients to access their e-mail. Employees can also access their mail via the Outlook Web App web interface, secure POP3, or secure IMAP4.

Outlook 2010/2013/2016 (Windows)

DePaul faculty and staff Windows 7 computers come with Outlook 2013 pre-loaded, and Windows 10 computers come with Outlook 2016. It is the preferred mail client for most DePaul users. Outlook 2010 is also supported on older Windows 7 computers.

Outlook 2016 (Mac)

Mac users can access mail services through the Outlook 2016 desktop client, which is part of the Office 2016 for Mac suite. To install Outlook 2016, please visit the "Software for DePaul-Owned Computers" page. Install instructions can be found here.

Outlook Web App

All DePaul employees can view their e-mail by using a web browser and navigating to the Outlook Web App ( The Outlook Web App provides all employees with an online method for accessing their e-mail when away from their office computers. It offers many of the same functions as the Outlook desktop clients for Windows and Mac OS X. Many major web browsers for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux support the Outlook Web App.
