When will lab and classroom computers be upgraded to Windows 10?

At this time, the lab and classroom computers Information Services manages will continue using Windows 7. Information Services has proposed upgrading the labs and classrooms to Windows 10 for the fall quarter of 2018.

What software will be installed on my Windows 10 computer?

When will Information Services begin allowing upgrades from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10?

A self-service upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is available. More information can be found at Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade page.

Will software that works on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 work on Windows 10?

Software and hardware compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are most likely compatible with Windows 10. However, for any needed software and hardware , please consult publisher and vendor technical support for definitive Windows 10 compatibility information prior to transitioning to Windows 10. Software and hardware not compatible with Windows 10 can be reported to Information Services by emailed details to windows10@depaul.edu.

When will I be required to upgrade my Windows 7 computer?

Information Services anticipates the support of Windows 7 until 2019 as long as it is running on compatible hardware. Customers are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 10 to take advantage of the newer features provided.
