What software does DePaul use to implement two factor authentication?
DePaul will be utizilizing the DUO Security platform. This platform provides us with a simple, secure way to implement two-factor authentication. Users can download the DUO Mobile app to their smartphone or tablet, or use a landline or cell phone number. DUO provides us with feature-rich options and ease of use.
How do I get started with using DUO with the VPN?

. Find the header titled "First Time Setup" and follow the instructions in the PDF. After you have enrolled your devices, navigate to the same page and find the header "Configure Datacenter VPN to use two factor authentication". Follow the instructions in the PDF to correctly set up your VPN client to use two factor-
What do I do if I forgot my main device?
If you forgot your main device (i.e. The first device you enrolled), you will need to login to the VPN with your backup device. In order to accomplish this, please follow the instructions in the PDF
What do I do if I got a new device and only had one enrolled, which happens to be my old device?
Please contact the Help Desk at 312-362-8765. For a landline or cell phone, the Help Desk will add your new phone number to your account and you will be ready to go. For smartphones (using the Duo mobile application), the Help Desk will add your new device and then send an SMS that includes an installation instruction link and an activation link. The instruction link will show you how to download the Duo Mobile application (if you have not already done so) and the activation link will automatically add the necessary configuration to the Duo Mobile application. After the activation step, you will be ready to go.
