As no replacement for faculty sites exists, the current infrastructure will be upgraded.

System engineers will plan a new system that meets the data recovery needs of the University.

The current storage platform that used by University systems has reached its end of life. System Engineers will engage multiple vendors and design a new storage platform that will meet the needs of the University’s applications.

Video Streaming/Ooyala Video streaming solution Evaluate replacement solutions which can be integrated with D2L/SharePoint. The University provides systems to host streaming video contact for faculty and various departments across the organization. Need to move to a newer system with better integration with our LMS and a more favorable contract for the amount of media that is uploaded and streamed.

Windows Server OS Enterprise level Microsoft-based OS Retire all Win 2003 Servers and migrate/replace existing applications In an effort to minimize security risk all Windows 2003 servers will be decommissioned or security hardened due to the fact that microsft is no longer issues patches or supporting the OS.

With the release of a new server OS by Microsoft, the systems team will begin formal testing of the latest version in anticipation of future applications that will need to be provisioned on the OS.
WLAN Services Provide wireless connectivity Formal review of WLAN services offered at DePaul, including: site surveys; campus-wide wireless upgrade proposal; AP optimization; and upgrade of client onboarding experience In an effort to improve coverage and performance of the campus WiFi network a complete survey of existing campus spaces will commence. New tools and practices will be used to determine changes or enhancements to the current service.
