Lorna Diaz

Lorna began working as a student employee for the Department of Housing in August 2014. She then became a professional staff member in September 2015, working as the assignments assistant. Her day-to-day responsibilities consist of processing housing cancellations and appeal requests, plus granting special access to students and staff. Lorna strives to make residents’ first experience away from home everything they have ever imagined.

Lorna received her associate’s degree in English from Harry S. Truman Community College and is currently working toward an English degree with a concentration in creative writing from DePaul University.

Lorna is a proud mother of three boys and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Additionally, she loves to make and sell customized cakes and cupcakes from home and loves to read and write. ​
