The College of Science and Health, Office of Admission, and several units within EMM have collaborated with RFUMS’ academic leadership since the inception of the alliance to develop six 3+ curricular options targeted for students participating in DePaul’s Pathways Honors Program
, a select program for highly qualified and motivated students pursuing a health career. New 3+ options in physical therapy and pathologists’ assistant studies were approved this summer, to accompany the medicine, pharmacy, podiatry and physicians’ assistant programs. The 3+ programs allow students to enter their profession faster, foregoing a year of schooling and cost, and take classes taught or co-taught by faculty from DePaul and RFUMS.
The RN to MS in nursing
program was also approved this summer. This degree program offers a path for registered nurses to earn Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from DePaul, and a graduate certificate from RFUMS in the areas of health administration or health professions education. Designed as a two-to-three year program for those who want to become nurse educators or nurse administrators, the RN to MS program allows nurses to earn their degrees and certificates online while working full time.
With the implementation of these programs, EMM’s marketing strategy is now focusing on new recruitment and marketing efforts to increase the visibility of DePaul in the health sciences and the alliance.
