Paula Luff serves as the associate vice president for Enrollment Services at DePaul University. Paula is an experienced leader within the Division of Enrollment Management and Marketing, having served in several leadership roles for Financial Aid since 2003 before taking on the Office of the University Registrar in 2014. Under Paula’s guidance, the Office of Financial Aid ensures institutional compliance with all federal/state legislation and regulations, administers aid programs, and develops institutional policies regarding leveraging institutional grant funds to meet the enrollment management goals of the university.
Paula’s leadership responsibilities expanded to include the registrar’s office in July 2014 due to her proven ability as a highly skilled administrator, coupled with the naturally interconnected relationship of student records and financial aid. The registrar’s office is responsible for all academic enrollment records, including registration, degree conferral, placement testing, immunization, grading, transcripts, diplomas, and the program requirements represented in Degree Progress Reports. Paula also oversees DePaul Central, the university's one-stop location that integrates student services for registration, student accounts and financial aid.
Paula is a national authority in financial aid trends and strategies that promote enrollment growth, diversity and quality. She is currently a member of the Financial Affairs Committee for the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and former member of the board of directors for that organization. Paula recently chaired the Enrollment Management Task Force for NASFAA, leading the development and implementation of a national training event on enrollment management for financial aid professionals. She is also a former president of the Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA) as well as the Illinois Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators (ILASFAA). She is the co-founder of the Illinois Private Aid Director Consortium and a former member of the executive council of the National Direct Student Loan Coalition (now the Higher Education Loan Coalition), which educates Congress on Direct Loan issues. (DePaul is the nation's largest private university in loan volume in the Federal Direct Lending Program.)
Prior to joining DePaul in 2003, Paula served as a financial aid administrator at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Loyola University. She has also worked at Carlow University, Seton Hill University and Carnegie Mellon University. Paula holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated cum laude.
